I just received the crowd review I ordered from ReverbNation for my song "Ink" and the results are really encouraging. In order to be featured on the RN crowd picks page you have to score at least a 7.8 and I scored a 7.4 but it's okay, I'm getting there! I did get a 78% in market potential for the song and I'm really excited about that!
Here are some of the reviews, the good and the bad:
"The opening piano bridge sounds tuneful and serene and makes the listener excited for what's to come. The singer sounds soulful and confident about the deep lyrics she is about to lay down. The verses are unique and playful with her word choice and makes listeners excited. The organization of the track is pleasing to the ear and would be a hit on the radio to pop and soul fans."
"The piano came on pretty mellow but I like the vocals of the girl singing for sure and think she should go an octave higher but the guitar in this song is pretty legit, the lyrics are interesting, nothing too exciting but it's a sorrowful song for sure. I still liked it though."
"I absolutely loved this song. The alto of the girl's voice sounded somewhat like Pink's. But I loved the softness that Pink was missing. The song's a little sad but that's most songs these days. I loved the intro and change in tempo was perfect for the song. Her high notes were a little pitch unperfect too."
"The piano background comes off as a little flat, but the vocals and the interesting texture of the guitar and drums more than make up for it. The lyrics are heartfelt and unique, and the melody is also catchy and flows well with the mood of the lyrics. I also appreciated the pitch accuracy, because things like that are incredibly important in songs that have a very light backing track, such as this one. One qualm I have with this song is that the echoes seem unnecessary- the original voice is good enough."
"Piano is good, doesn't overpower the vocals. Meaningful lyrics, super catchy with the beat, love love love!!! Haven't heard anything like it before, cute voice, guitar's sweet and well played, song you could dance to easy and clap along to. Sounds like a song that would be in a teen drama. Would be fun to dance to at a concert!"
"The piano is great it really relays the message of the song. As for the lead singer, your voice is very nice but there is a lightness that this song needs so be careful not to be too heavy on the song. But I like the message of this song.I believe this is a very creative way to go about the message this song is conveying.Truly a good job. And don't be afraid to let the song rise a little."
